Esteban fell from the stars at the Birth of Hip Hop and has had a lifelong love of Music. He studied classical piano as a child and is self taught on the guitar, bass, and mandolin. At 16 he played on stage at The Grand Ole Opry.

He eventually began studying the Upright Bass and played for years in orchestras and ensembles after attending College on a Jazz scholarship. He has always been an avid record collector and now boasts a collection over +10,000.

After hosting a show on Chicago Jazz station 90.9FM for several years he made the switch to playing records in bars and venues throughout Chicago, including the Planetarium and The Lyric Opera House. Over the last 15 years he has played all around the country and has shared the stage with everyone from Parliament Funkadelic to Slick Rick.

For almost 10 years he has been the Saturday night DJ at The Owl, a bar in Chicago’s Logan square neighborhood, playing music for packed dance floors until 5 a.m.

Having fun and making people dance is always the highest priority. Favorite music to mix includes Soul, Funk, Reggae, Latin, Hip-Hop, and Rock music- but he is always looking to expand his musical horizons.
