Nearing completion of his second decade behind the decks, Duke's obsession with music began early, initially as a music journalist, locally for alt. weekly Newcity Chicago (where served as editor for the Club Section for several years), as well as global lifestyle juggernaut Resident Advisor and Magnetic Magazine. Over time, his interests increasingly found him busy as a DJ, supporting live acts as varied as Nouvelle Vague, TV On The Radio, Saul Williams, and DJ support for the likes of Seth Troxler, Doc Martin, Derrick Carter, Museum of Love (DFA/LCD Soundsystem), and more. A part of the Style Matters DJ collective since its inception, his experience covers over 350 private events--from fundraisers and celebrations of every nature, to weddings big-and-small, fancy-to-D.I.Y.-funky. When not booked in-demand (and exclusively) through Style Matters DJs, you can also find Duke around the city with various residencies including his long-running Thursday night weekly "The Goods" (celebrating 6 years in 2019), and Vocalo Radio 91.1 FM, which showcases new mixes every 4th Friday of the month, to name a few. When not DJing, Duke is also a Lead Instructor for the Style Matters DJ Apprenticeship, a stipend-based program for Chicago-area teens through After School Matters.
